What do I bring to my first appointment?
Most important is an open mind! Also bring your insurance card – there is a minimal amount of paperwork where I request your name address and phone number along with Insurance information.


What will we talk about?
My belief is that we start where the client is…..that means that we talk about what you are comfortable talking about and when you are comfortable talking about it. I will start by asking, “What brings you in today?” and we progress from there. If I bring up a topic that you do not want to discuss, you simply say so and I will respect that wish.


What if I am in Crisis and feel like I am not safe?
Call 911 or the McHenry County Crisis Line at 1-800-892-8900.


What if I work during the day?
I have night and Saturday appointments available.


What if my husband, mother, neighbor, etc calls and wants to talk to you about me?
I am bound by the law of Illinois to keep everything we talk about confidential. The only time that I am allowed to share information about a client is if I believe that you could harm yourself or someone else.
